In a heartwarming display of unity and compassion, Glendale International School came together to celebrate Pink Day to spread awareness on breast cancer. The entire school turned out on October 25th donned in different shades of pink for a very noble cause.

The school campus was a sea of pink as students, teachers, and staff wore pink clothing, accessories to show their solidarity with breast cancer patients and survivors. The display of pink was not only visually striking but also a powerful reminder of the importance of early detection and support for those affected by breast cancer.

The day began with children doing different activities in classrooms but the highlight of the day was the pink-themed Bake Sale, which saw students, parents, and teachers contributing their culinary talents to create a mouthwatering array of pink treats. Pink cupcakes, cookies, and other delectable confections were available for purchase, and the proceeds from the sale will be donated to breast cancer awareness and research organisations.

To further emphasise the importance of breast cancer awareness, students of Year 5 and Year 6 organised a special assembly during which they made compelling presentations. The presentation covered a range of topics, including the importance of regular breast self-exams, the significance of mammograms, and the emotional and physical challenges faced by those battling breast cancer.

The school’s Pink Day not only succeeded in raising awareness and funds but also served as a poignant reminder that, by working together, even a small community can contribute significantly to a global cause. The hope is that the empathy and understanding fostered on this day will continue to inspire both the school’s students and the broader community to support those affected by breast cancer in meaningful ways.
